Soccer Practice Drills

Quite possible you may not agree with me on this, but still, lend me your ears. There is a huge difference in the techniques adopted in kids soccer drills to train kids in comparison to those who are in high school or college. It is necessary as the young players are somewhat aware of their likes and dislikes, whereas kids just begin to get a hang of many new things.

However, there are many exercises in soccer drills for kids which facilitate the training of young kids become superstars. Always remember that kids would love to play the game only for so long as it interests them. If their level of interest is not maintained, they feel discouraged to play. The pressure to quit the game begins to play on them. So persevere and don’t push them too hard initially.

A majority of kids play soccer because they find it enjoyable while some others join the sport for their parents. Whatever may be the case, incentives don’t encourage them to join the sport. Most of the coaches fail to take this aspect into consideration. They compel the kids to realize the goals set for them in terms of their stamina, skills, and attitude towards the game at all costs. The kids fell stressed out and their confidence is shaken as a result of all this.

Youth Soccer Drills

In planning soccer drills for kids, it’s normal for a new coach to feel somewhat troubled initially. The reason could the indiscipline of the players in the game. But, it’s okay. They may take a considerable amount of time but are sure to appreciate the value of joint effort and regularity. They will also realize that in order to get respect they will first have to respect other team members including their coach.

Here, it’s important for you to make sure that kids in youth soccer drills are exposed to the new rules gradually. This is due to the fact that they may not know them and be slow at learning about them. Also, before introducing any changes in the team’s structure, take their suggestions, views, and opinions before hand. This allows the kids to understand the system and accept the changes willfully.

As a coach, you must also know how to teach kids certain values in this process. To achieve this, measure the performance of the boys individually. The coach should ensure that the kid gets sufficient time in field and their hard work is acknowledged. Along with this, it’s of equal importance that those who fail to comply with the stated rules are adequately punished.
This makes the kids feel answerable for what they do.

However, be particular about it. Don’t be harsh with the kid. He should not be ignored or made fun of. As an example, you can keep the boy away from a training session as a punishment.
